New U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to suspend international support, but the decision does not apply to security assistance for Ukraine.

This was reported by the Pentagon press service in a comment to Voice of America.

Thus, the decree establishes a 90-day pause in the provision of U.S. support to other countries.

"Security assistance to Ukraine is not subject to the restrictions of the recent Foreign Assistance Order, as it only applies to development programs, not military support," the Pentagon clarified.

Contracts for the production of weapons for Ukraine under the USAI program, which were previously issued by the previous administration, remain in force. Therefore, the decree does not affect the previously planned supply of weapons from U.S. warehouses.

Earlier, Trump criticized Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the war in Ukraine.

The U.S. leader also said during the Davos forum that the United States are already working on an agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
