Military detained in Volyn for leaking AFU positions to Russia
In Volyn, a serviceman from the Territorial Recruitment Center cooperated with the Russian occupiers. He leaked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the enemy.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office via Telegram on Friday, November 8.
Cooperation of the serviceman with Russia
The investigation established that the 29-year-old senior soldier was recruited in September this year. He passed information to the occupiers about the personnel and leadership of his TRC, the location of the military unit, air defense facilities and other strategic objects in Volyn.
He kept in touch with representatives of the Russian Federation via messenger, and for his "services" he received remuneration in cryptocurrency that he used to transfer to his own bank accounts. During the search of his apartment, the SBU found technical devices with evidence of his criminal activity.
The suspect is currently in custody. He has already been removed from office.
The military commander was served a notice of suspicion of high treason. The sanction provides for up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of assets.
To recap, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the cyber police, detained a 47-year-old resident of Kharkiv, who served as the CEO of a Russian company.
The SBU also detained a 63-year-old Russian military intelligence agent in Kharkiv. The offender was collecting data for Russian strikes against units of the Defense Forces.
