President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that if all the points of the Victory Plan are implemented, Russia will have to take part in the Peace Summit. He emphasized that this would prove the effectiveness of the goals and principles of the United Nations.

Mr. Zelenskyy said this during the Crimean Platform's parliamentary summit on Thursday, October 24.

When will Russia join the Peace Summit?

A meeting of the Crimean Platform's parliamentary summit is taking place in the Latvian capital Riga. Delegations from more than 40 countries have gathered there.

Zelenskyy noted that only after the Victory Plan is implemented and Russia participates in the Peace Summit will the world see the effectiveness of the UN Charter.

"When and if the Victory Plan is fully implemented, we will see Russia at the Peace Summit. We will see the formula of peace implemented, we will see the goals and principles of the UN Charter fully restored," the President of Ukraine said.

He also emphasized that the Victory Plan aims to deprive Russia of any alternatives it counts on. The document speaks only of a just peace.

What the Peace Plan is about

Zelenskyy reminded of the main principles on which the Victory Plan is based:

  • first — geopolitics and Ukraine's invitation to NATO;
  • second — defense;
  • third — deterring Russia;
  • fourth — economic cooperation;
  • fifth — security.

"Russia is evading real diplomacy and does not want to give back the stolen goods, but we must force them to do so," President Zelensky emphasized.

He noted that Ukraine and its partners should strengthen their allied positions.

Zelenskyy also said that on United Nations Day, it is especially important to show that this organization is indeed a guarantor of justice and freedom for every independent country.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on the final declaration of the BRICS summit in Kazan.
