Zelenskyy instructed to check the training quality of the AFU

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the State Defense Committee on Monday, December 9. During the meeting, it was decided that the level of training of Ukrainian soldiers requires serious changes.

Zelenskyy said this during his evening speech.

"Personnel changes took place. Precisely in order to reboot the training system of our soldiers. Oleh Apostol, Mykhailo Drapatyi will deal with this. Today was the beginning of the corresponding discussion during the meeting of State Defense Committee," Zelenskyy noted.

The President also instructed the State Defense Committee to prepare a detailed report. In addition, now, according to him, it is important to conduct an audit of what things require immediate changes and what exactly needs to be fixed, what needs to be added and who else needs to be replaced.

"Everything that is necessary can be provided — both at the organizational level and at the financial level. The quality of soldiers' training is largely the effectiveness of our soldiers in battles, and, of course, it is the preservation of the lives of our guys," Zelenskyy added.

Those present also heard a report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, which concerned the situation on the main front lines and the Kursk operation.

"I thank all our soldiers who are destroying the occupier. There was also a separate report by Pavlo Palisa on the amounts of direct funds to the brigades directly — for the additional purchase of drones," the Head of State said.

In addition, according to Zelenskyy, a decision has recently been made on the amount of such direct money, but this amount is also not enough.

"I have instructed the Prime Minister to increase funding for the brigades in the coming days — significantly increase," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Previously, Zelenskyy met with the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kristen Michal. In particular, they discussed strengthening of Ukraine.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is initiating the creation of a Contact Group to discuss the end of the war, which will include key European partners.
