As noted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commander of the machine-gun unit of the security platoon of the Galicia-Volyn Radio Engineering Brigade, junior sergeant Volodymyr Pshenychnyak, shot down the Russian missile. He fired from the "Igla" portable anti-aircraft missile system directly at the target.

"The shot down missile did not cause damage to critical infrastructure facilities. The place of impact and the remains of the missile were found by the search group," the report says.

During a massive attack on December 13, air defense units and the aviation of the "West" air command destroyed 52 air and sea-based cruise missiles in their area of ​​responsibility. They also shot down two strike Shahed drones.

As a reminder, the Russians shelled Ukraine on Friday, December 13. The enemy launched strike drones and missiles of various types. In total, the radio-technical troops detected 287 targets.

Over the last 24 hours, settlements in the liberated Kherson region were under Russian shelling. As a result of the attacks, there are dead and injured people.
