Russia's usage of an intercontinental ballistic missile for attacking Ukraine is another escalation. This shows that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has no intention of holding peace negotiation.

The EU spokesman Peter Stano said this at a press briefing in Brussels, as correspondent of Ukrinform reports.

Putin has no intention of negotiating

Stano noted that Putin continues to increase tensions using nuclear rhetoric.

"We are certainly monitoring reports that Russia has used an intercontinental ballistic missile against a target or targets in Ukraine... It is clear that such an attack or attacks could be a clear sign of escalation by Putin," Stano said.

The EU spokesman noted that the European side had no shortage of signs of further escalation of the conflict from Putin. Stano recalled that Putin began this escalation by creating food and energy crises. Now he is trying to weaponize hunger and winter, directing drones, guided bombs and missiles against Ukraine's energy and civilian infrastructure. Terror against civilians continues.

Stano also recalled that Putin began nuclear blackmail long before intercontinental ballistic missiles were launched.

He noted that every step taken by Putin in this criminal aggression against the people of Ukraine is a signal to Ukrainians, Europeans, Americans and the entire international community that Putin is an unpredictable aggressor.

As a reminder, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the missile with which Russia hit Dnipro tonight has all the signs of a new weapon — a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile. The Head of State said that examinations are currently underway.

Previously, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the enemy launched an intercontinental ballistic missile over Dnipro for the first time. The invaders hit Dnipro with a new weapon, as a result of which destruction was recorded in the city. We told what characteristics the "Rubezh" missile has.
