Ukraine received 150 million euros from the European Union. These funds will be used, in particular, for feeding children in schools.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this via Telegram on Wednesday, December 25.
Financial assistance from the EU
"The funds will be used to provide free meals to children in 1-4 grades, restore infrastructure, and support uninterrupted production of agricultural products," the message says.
Shmyhal clarified that this amount is the second tranche within the agreement with the EU to support rapid recovery and includes 300 million euros in total to Ukraine.
The Prime Minister thanked the EU countries and institutions for their important support for the reconstruction of Ukraine and assistance to business, as well as ensuring comfortable living conditions for Ukrainians.
As a reminder, Ukraine received $1 billion from the US yesterday, which were withdrawn from the frozen Russian assets.
It is known that this aid is the last during the term of the current president of the country, Joe Biden. The package included missiles for air defense systems and artillery ammunition.
