Ukraine wants to set a record for UAVs numbers — Zelenskyy
Drones have dramatically changed the tactics of warfare. They help save human lives and inflict losses on the enemy. That is why Ukraine is planning to increase its own UAVs production, and we are talking about record numbers.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his opening speech at the Ramstein meeting on Thursday, January 9.
Ukraine increases the number of drones at the front
According to Zelenskyy, UAVs have changed the nature of warfare. That is why Ukraine is actively working to increase the number of drones at the front. According to the Head of State, a large number of contracts have already been signed and many are still being processed.
"Today, there is a direct dependency. To stop the enemy’s advance, and to stop the loss of people and territory, we need drones. Drones restrain the enemy and keep him at a distance. This can be done. Drone production in Ukraine is more cost-effective than anywhere else. This year, we in Ukraine want to set a record in the number and quality of drones we produce and receive from our partners," Zelenskyy stated.
As a reminder, the Russian military is actively using drones that can bypass electronic warfare and accurately attack targets. For this purpose, a fiber-optic system was installed to ensure stable communication.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine wants to produce three thousand missile drones and 30,000 long-range drones in 2025. The state budget allocates UAH 2.23 trillion (over USD 52 billion — Ed.) for defense and security.
