US elections could trigger mass protests

More than two dozen states have already expressed their readiness to send National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., if necessary. The United States fears that there may be massive unrest in the weeks following the presidential election and immediately before the inauguration.

Jean-Paul Lorenzo, head of the Future Operations Division of the National Guard Bureau, said he does not know how many Guard troops will actually be needed or requested in 2024. He explained that it will depend on what goals the District of Columbia sets.

Meanwhile, workers are installing security fences. A defense official said on Monday, November 4, that Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin and Washington state have ongoing National Guard missions, while Washington, D.C., Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia have troops on standby.

Today, November 5, the 60th presidential election will be held in the United States. The poll showed that Harris received the support of 49% of registered voters, while Trump received the same 49%.

Meanwhile, US presidential candidate Donald Trump has promised to significantly increase the amount of duties on goods from the EU, as he believes that American goods are not selling well.
