People died in Germany because of New Year's fireworks

On New Year's Eve in Germany, five people died because of fireworks. In addition, more than 300 people were arrested in Berlin.

Deaths due to fireworks in Berlin
It is reported that as of the morning of January 1, five people have been killed as a result of the careless use of pyrotechnics. Thus, in the city of Gezeke in North Rhine-Westphalia, a 24-year-old man died as a result of a firecracker explosion.
Two other older men, aged 45 and 50, died while setting off fireworks in two different cities in Saxony. Other fatalities due to fireworks occurred in Brandenburg.
At the same time, several other young people in Berlin suffered serious hand injuries, including amputations, due to firecracker explosions. At night, eight victims with similar injuries were brought to the hospital.
Also in Leipzig, large groups of young people started fighting with each other, throwing pyrotechnics at each other. Explosives also hit random cars and trams. Several young men also attacked law enforcement officers with pyrotechnics.
In Hamburg, a large crowd of hooligans also began throwing pyrotechnics at a fire brigade that arrived to extinguish a burning garbage can. The firefighters had to leave.
Nevertheless, the Berlin police believe that this night, despite hundreds of calls, was calmer than usual, as there were no major disturbances. In total, more than 330 people were detained on New Year's Eve, and 13 police officers were injured.
As a reminder, a fight broke out between several young men in the center of Lviv on New Year's Eve. Law enforcement officers detained those involved and took them to the police station.
