What is happening in Georgia
It is known that the frame of the Christmas tree was installed near the protest site near the Tbilisi City Hall. However, participants in the actions prevented it from being dismantled. At that time, the tree was under the protection of law enforcement officers.
After the rally began, protesters took control of it and began decorating it with photos and flags. Later, an effigy of the Head of the Special Task Department, who is responsible for dispersing the protests, Zviad Kharatishvili, was burned down in front of the tree.
Mayor Kakha Kaladze said that the Christmas tree would definitely be decorated.
It is known that today, people will again go out to protest at approximately 7:00 p.m.
It should be recalled that the Christmas tree in Tbilisi will be installed on December 8. The city hall stated that future protests "may deprive children of the holiday".
In addition, on December 7, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili.
