Russian ship shelled a German helicopter
German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock said on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels that a German military helicopter was carrying out a reconnaissance flight when it was shelled by a Russian ship. She did not say when the incident occurred.
As a reminder, the use of flares is only allowed in emergency situations. Baerbock noted that there are always ships transporting Russian oil in the Baltic Sea, bypassing sanctions.
The minister also announced that monitoring of pipelines and data transmission cables in the Baltic Sea should be strengthened. In addition, it is necessary to expand the protection of critical infrastructure through patrols. The reason is the increase in hybrid attacks by Russia and its supporters.
Earlier, we wrote that unknown people cut the cable located in the Baltic Sea and providing communication between Lithuania and Sweden. Such damage led to a decrease in Internet bandwidth.
It should be reminded that Ukrainian MID fighters successfully disabled the Russian minesweeper "Alexander Obukhov" of the Baltic Fleet, which was preparing for combat duty.
