Top 30 Ukrainian YouTube channels — where's Novyny.LIVE?

In 2024, the Ukrainian segment of YouTube remained an important source of news for viewers. The leader among news channels was Channel 24, which demonstrated significant audience growth and the introduction of new content formats. Novyny.LIVE ranked fifth out of 30 channels.

What Ukrainians watched in 2024

In 2024, views of news channels in the Ukrainian YouTube segment dropped by 10% compared to 2023.

The assessment is based on the number of subscribers, videos and views.

At the same time, the general trend of declining views (-10%) indicates a change in consumer habits or increased competition. And the popularity of channels depends on interactivity, content formats, and adaptation to the trends of 2024.

A ranking of 30 informational YouTube channels conducted exclusively in Ukrainian was also presented.

In this list, Novyny.LIVE ranked fourth.

Why Channel 24 has become a leader

The top channel of the year, Channel 24, has over 8 million subscribers. It gained 1.71 million new subscribers during the year. More than 46 thousand videos were viewed 3.864 billion times.

The head of the channel's YouTube department, Yulia Hilei, noted that the focus was on analyzing the needs of the audience: topics, headlines and previews.

As a reminder, Telegram remains the main source of news and personal communication for Ukrainians. Facebook, on the other hand, is beginning to lose ground and users.

If the Ukrainian authorities block Telegram, 52% of surveyed users will look for other news sources, and 31% will use VPNs to circumvent bans.
