Canadian-funded NASAMS missile system is already in Ukraine
The Canadian-funded NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system has arrived in Ukraine. It should strengthen the air security of our country amidst new threats that have arisen before it.
This was stated in Ottawa by Canadian Minister of Defence, Bill Blair, as the "We — Ukraine" portal reports on Friday, November 22.
NASAMS has arrived in Ukraine
"We have been working closely with the Americans and the manufacturer Raytheon on the assembly of this system and its delivery. It is currently in Poland and should soon be transported across the border," he said.
The Minister recalled that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously. Then the Canadian leader announced the arrival of NASAMS in the near future.
"We are working with the Ukrainians to deliver this system, which Canada has purchased for Ukraine, as quickly as possible. I expect we will be able to say much more soon," Blair said.
Previously, we wrote that Norway will provide Ukraine with new military assistance. In particular, we are talking about F-16 fighters and NASAMS systems.
It should be recalled that the largest German defense concern Rheinmetall transferred another 20 Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine at the end of September 2024.
