Norway will finance Ukrainian defense companies
On Friday, November 15, Norway agreed to join the "Danish format" of support for Ukraine. This involves direct financing of weapons and hardware in Ukraine.
This was announced by Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
Financing of weapons production in Ukraine
Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov is on a working trip to Oslo. There, he agreed with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister of Defense Bjørn Arild Gram that Norway would finance production in Ukraine.
"This will allow us to produce and supply the necessary weapons for our Armed Forces more quickly. In addition, we discussed a new format of cooperation — the "Norwegian model". This is a new model of investing in Ukrainian defense technology companies. Details will be later," Umerov said.
It should be reminded, that it became known that the German Rheinmetall group will build four weapons production factories in Ukraine, one of which has already been put into operation.
At the end of October, the director of the Department of International Defense Cooperation, Hennadiy Kovalenko, said that Norway would provide Ukraine with new military assistance.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian weapons manufacturers are massively leaving abroad — the reasons have become known.
