Unknown UAVs over US bases in Britain — What were they seeking?
Over the past six days, several unidentified drones have been spotted flying over three US Air Force bases in England. The military believes that these were professional flights, not amateur entertainment.
This was reported by Reuters.
What these drones could be looking for
According to the press service of the British military, small drones were spotted near and over the Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell bases. These three bases are leased to the US Air Force in the UK.
Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder said the U.S. military takes such incidents seriously. He said small drones are quite common and it is too early to conclude whether they were sent by amateurs or spies.
However, a U.S. official told Reuters on condition of anonymity that it did not appear that the drones were the work of amateurs and that the U.S. military would continue to investigate.
The Americans have already invited their British allies to help find out who is responsible for the drone flights. About 60 military personnel have already been involved in the investigation.
As a reminder, on the night of November 25, the DIU struck an oil depot in Kaluga, which is used to support Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.
Also, on the night of November 19, there were strong explosions in the Bryansk region. There was an attack on the 67th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate.
