The goal of the Russian authorities is to organize a double celebration — the victory over Nazi Germany and the "victory" over Ukraine. At the same time, Russia will present any outcome of this war as a victory.
The newspaper's correspondent, who works in Russia, has learned from his own sources that Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine will simply be frozen in the event of a ceasefire. Thus, negotiations seem inevitable.
However, even if the war ends, Russian dictator Putin's problems will not disappear. He will have to contend with economic problems, including rising inflation, a depreciating ruble, and weak productivity.
Earlier, we wrote that the Kremlin released a list of Western leaders whom Russian dictator Vladimir Putin congratulated on the New Year.
As a reminder, Politico recently reported that Putin was included in the ranking of the biggest losers of 2024. The authors of the list laughed at his idea to "take over Ukraine in three days".
