Ukrainian airline Supernova Airlines has received permission to operate charter flights in European countries. Final preparations for commercial flights are currently underway.

This was reported by the press service of Nova Poshta on Tuesday, October 22.

Permission for flights in Europe

"On October 17, Supernova Airlines, a member of the Nova group, received permission from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency to operate flights in Europe, which is required for non-European airlines," the message says.

The company explained that they will now be able to operate commercial flights in EU skies, and final preparations are underway. Strategically, the airline is focused on long-haul flights from the USA and China to Europe.

It will also be ready to operate charter flights on behalf of third-party clients, in accordance with the capabilities of the Boeing 737-800SF aircraft.

It is known that on September 18, the airline made its first flight on its own Boeing 737-800SF aircraft under the Ukrainian flag and Ukrainian registration plates.

Flights in Ukraine

At the same time, information is spreading on social networks that Nova Poshta has allegedly received permission to fly to Lviv and Kyiv. The company's press service denied this and explained that they are allowed to fly within the EU — the sky in Ukraine remains closed.

Previously, Nova Poshta warned customers about delays of international parcels. This happened amidst the introduction of new taxes on parcels from abroad.

The company also canceled the fee for returning parcels. Previously, its cost was 0.5% of its declared value.
