Fences have already been erected on the White House grounds in Washington, D.C., and special protective structures have been placed and a white fence installed near the residence of the President of the United States.
This year’s inauguration will have a special detail: national flags will be at half-mast.
The reason is to mourn the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, who died on December 29, 2024. According to the protocol, the flags will remain at half-mast for 30 days.
According to the 20th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, Trump will officially take office on 20 January at 12:00 pm EST (19:00 Kyiv time).
As a reminder, on November 6, Donald Trump announced his victory in the U.S. presidential election.
The Republican was congratulated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak.
