Turkish President Recep Erdoğan spoke positively about the intentions of the newly elected US President Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine. He claimed that this could be easily implemented if Trump applies an approach to resolving the situation.

This was reported by Reuters.

Erdoğan's reaction to Trump's statements about peace in Ukraine

Journalists asked Erdoğan whether he believed that Donald Trump would really end the war in Ukraine, as he has repeatedly promised to do so almost in a day after winning the US elections.

"We can easily end this war if we see a Trump administration that approaches the problem with the prospect of a solution. More dialogue, diplomacy, agreement will open the door to peace, not to weapons, bombs and conflict," Erdoğan said.

We should add that Turkey has repeatedly called for an end to the war in Ukraine through negotiations and even offered to act as a mediator in them.

In addition, recently, after meeting with Putin during the BRICS summit in Russia, Erdoğan stated that the Russian president wants a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, the US Department of State claimed today that they would support negotiations between Ukraine and Russia only if President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready for it.

We should add that Vladimir Putin has recently spoken about negotiations, although he immediately outlined his demands that Ukraine must fulfill.

Recently, The Wall Street Journal published an article in which, citing its own anonymous sources, it described what points Trump's Peace Plan might contain.
