Democratic and Republican congressmen have appealed to US President Joe Biden to allow Poland to shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine. Polish Minister of Foreign Radosław Sikorski has responded positively to this appeal.

Radosław Sikorski reported this on the X network, adding a report about it in The Hill to his post.

Poland's statement on shooting down missiles over Ukraine

Recently, The Hill reported that bipartisan members of the House of Representatives are calling on Biden to allow Poland to shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine.

Seeing this information, Sikorski reacted positively to it, because earlier he was the first to propose shooting down Russian missiles and drones over the territory of Ukraine if they were heading towards Poland.

"It's nice when both Republicans and Democrats support the Polish proposal," he wrote.

After the statement of the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs about shooting down Russian missiles, NATO reacted sharply to such a proposal. They stated that this could have consequences for the entire North Atlantic Alliance, and it is not a party to the "conflict".

Shortly after that, Poland named the main condition for shooting down Russian missiles over Ukraine. Sikorski stated that Polish anti-aircraft missile system would be deployed if Russia starts shelling nuclear power plants.
