Additional AS-90 systems for the Armed Forces from the UK

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov held a meeting with the Secretary of State for Defence of the UK John Healey. In particular, they discussed further steps to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"The UK is acting in advance, providing our soldiers with the necessary ammunition: artillery, mortars, air defense, anti-tank mines. This is an example for other partners, because timely deliveries allow us to destroy the enemy more effectively," Umerov explained.

According to the Minister, by the end of the year, Ukrainian forces will receive additional AS-90 artillery systems. In addition, he announced positive news regarding the development of long-range weapons and robotic systems.

"Britain is also actively working on the training and staffing of our strategic reserve brigades. We agreed with John Healey to work out a list of priority needs together, which will be financed at the expense of frozen Russian assets," the message stated.

Umerov noted that investing in the defense industry of Ukraine remains an equally important issue.

"Britain is already involved in production, but our task is to expand these opportunities and increase production in the defense industry. I separately informed my British colleague about President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Victory Plan, in particular in the area of ​​defense," the Minister added.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine expressed his sincere gratitude to the people of the UK, its government and personally to John Healey for their support.

It should be reminded, that during today's meeting between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer, the leaders discussed the Ukrainian Victory Plan. The parties agreed to work it out together with their allies.
