Budanov suggests a way to stop the supply of Western components to Russia
Currently, the supply of Western components to Russia for its missiles has not stopped, and everyone is "turning a blind eye" to this. To stop it, the flow of semiconductors to Russia needs to be halted.
This was stated by Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in an interview with Bloomberg.
Supply of Western components to Russia
Budanov stated that "everyone is turning a blind eye" to the fact that Western components continue to be supplied to Russia for its missiles. He noted that no changes have occurred during the course of the war.
"If you open any of these missiles or drones, you'll see for yourself that they are filled with Western components. Companies may claim that they aren't selling anything to Russia, that they are just selling to intermediaries. But this doesn't change the fact that these parts are reaching Russia in huge volumes," Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate said.
He also emphasized that missiles containing these components are not being sent to storage — they are being dispatched directly to frontline units that are shelling Ukraine. The only way to block the Kremlin's capabilities is to stop the flow of semiconductors to Russia, but this is not happening.
Previously, analysts from ISW reported that Russia is strengthening its cooperation with Iran, with particular attention being paid to the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
In addition, recently the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, stated that the occupiers are losing their advantage on the front in terms of the number of shells. This decline began in the winter of 2024.
