1000 days of the great war — how Europe expressed support
Western countries, the European Union, and NATO are expressing their support for Ukraine on the 1000th day of the great war. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, and other politicians posted on social media.

NATO's Senior Representative to Ukraine, Patrick Turner, posted a message on social networking site X, saying that 1000 days is a reminder of the strength and resilience shown by Ukrainians.
"Our support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity remains unwavering," Turner said.
According to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, that night the buildings of the European Commission were illuminated with the Ukrainian flag in honor of the defenders of Ukraine.
"In 2022, Russia believed that its full-scale invasion would last a few days. A thousand days later, Ukraine continues to bravely resist - on the battlefield and against criminal attacks on civilian targets," wrote Ursula von der Leyen.
"Lithuania has stood by Ukraine at all stages of this history — before the invasion, in the darkest days and now, in the grueling struggle for freedom. Ukraine can always count on us," said Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurinas Kasciunas.
Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen also recorded a video message in which she noted that Ukraine needs the support of its partners.
"Ukraine is fighting for freedom, for the security of Europe and for peace in the world. Our support for Ukraine is an investment in the future of humanity," the politician said.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. She assured that Germany would stand by Ukraine.
"We will be with you until you regain peace. Glory to Ukraine," Baerbock wrote.
Former Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, who will head the EU's diplomatic service, also noted the courage and unity of Ukrainians.
"Each of these days is too much. But in all the difficulties, Ukrainians have shown incomparable courage and resilience. Europe's support for Ukraine is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine," said Kaja Kallas.
As a reminder, according to the KIIS, Russia has fired more than 2,500 missiles and drones at Kyiv during the 1000 days of the war.
