Zelenskyy voices support for California as wildfires rage
Devastating wildfires in California have been raging for several days, forcing tens of thousands of people to leave their homes, and even leaving dead and wounded. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the bravery of the rescuers and wished that the terrible disaster will be overcome as soon as possible.
This is what President of Ukraine wrote on his X page on Thursday, January 9.
"Heartbreaking scenes of devastation caused by wildfires in California. We wish for the safety of all affected communities and residents, as well as the success of firefighters and first responders who are bravely fighting the deadly blazes," Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote.
According to the National Weather Service, this fire may become the worst in Southern California in the last ten years. State authorities evacuated more than 30 thousand people. A state of emergency has been declared in the county.
As a reminder, a fire also broke out in Pacific Palisades, home to many celebreties. It is already known that the estates of Leighton Meester and Paris Hilton have burned down.
We also reported that author James Woods left his estate due to a fire. On social media, he wrote that losing everything in an instant is a big challenge.
