Zelenskyy met with Qatari Prime Minister — what was discussed
On January 22, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The topics of conversation were humanitarian cooperation, food security and the return of Ukrainian children.
This was reported by Volodymyr Zelenskyy via Telegram and the Presidential Office.
Meeting between Zelensky and Qatari Prime Minister
During the meeting, Zelenskyy noted Qatar's mediation in the return of 53 Ukrainian children who were forcibly removed from Ukraine by Russia. He stressed that our country looks forward to expanding this mediation mission and assisting in the return of illegally detained civilians and prisoners of war.
The leaders also discussed humanitarian cooperation and food security. At the same time, Zelenskyy spoke about the new Ukrainian initiative "Food from Ukraine", which was launched to help the Syrian people and deliver food to Syria.
"Ukraine is also working on opportunities to support the agricultural sector of this country and educate Syrian students. The President invited Qatar to participate in the implementation of these initiatives and provide financial support, which will also contribute to restoring stability in the entire region," the statement said.
As a reminder, on January 22, Zelenskyy met with the President of Israel to discuss important issues of Ukrainian-Israeli cooperation.
The head of state also met with Azerbaijani President Aliyev, where they focused on increasing trade between the two countries in the future.
