Zelenskyy met with the delegation of the Parliament of Canada — what they talked about

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the multi-party delegation of the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament. During the meeting, the head of state emphasized the importance of this visit as a symbol of Canada's constant support for Ukraine.

This was reported in the press service of the President's Office on Monday, October 14.

What were they talking about

The main topic of discussion was Ukraine's path to NATO membership. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of receiving clear signals regarding support for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.

During the meeting, they also discussed critically important issues of supporting the Ukrainian energy system before the winter period, continuing the provision of defense assistance and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia. Separate attention was paid to Canada's leadership in the release of Ukrainian prisoners and deported people.

"We felt the support of the Canadian people, the government, the parliament from the very beginning of this war. Thank you for your military and political support. This is all extremely important, because we feel that we are not alone in this struggle," Zelenskyy said.

It should be reminded, that on October 14, Ukraine was visited by a delegation of the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament, headed by speaker Greg Fergus. Representatives of all political parties of the country arrived in Kyiv.
