Zelenskyy and Scholz visited injured soldiers — video

Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz visited Kyiv surprisingly on Monday, December 2. Together with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, they visited injured soldiers.

Zelenskyy reported this via Telegram.

The President noted that this was Scholz's first visit to Ukraine in over two years. He expressed gratitude to Germany for all the support provided and emphasized that this country is a European leader in helping Ukraine.

"We began the meeting with the Chancellor by visiting our soldiers who were injured in battles against the occupier and are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation," Zelenskyy noted.

The Ukrainian leader added that together they are doing everything possible to restore a fair peace as soon as possible, and therefore, security for all of Europe.

As a reminder, the Tagesschau newspaper wrote that Scholz wants to express solidarity with Ukraine with his visit.

Scholz also announced the transfer of a military aid package worth 650 million euros to Ukraine by the end of 2024.
