Olaf Scholz said this at a press conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as a Novyny.LIVE correspondent reports.

Scholz's statements about aid for Ukraine

The Chancellor noted that he often calls Zelenskyy. According to him, Germany is on Ukraine's side.

"Russia continues to shell Ukrainian energy sector. We have provided emergency assistance to restore Ukrainian energy, and Germany is the first country in Europe and the second in the world after the USA in terms of the level of aid," Scholz noted.

He reported that this amount is 28 billion euros. In total, five IRIS-T air defense systems, three Patriots and 50 Gepard systems were provided. Scholz noted that this military aid came with parts and missiles.

"Military aid from Germany to Ukraine will increase. Germany has great endurance, and this is also a signal to Putin, who did not achieve his goals in the war against Ukraine. Ukraine and the nation have matured during this war," the Chancellor of Germany added.

It should be recalled that on December 2, Scholz made an unannounced visit to Kyiv to confirm support for Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Zelenskyy and Scholz also inspected drones, which were created jointly by Ukrainian and German specialists.
