Russia holds Ukrainian prisoners of war in more than 200 places. Due to complete information isolation by the Russian Federation, relatives of the prisoners know almost nothing about their whereabouts and health status.

This was stated by Anastasiia Savova, the head of the Association "Strength of the Marines", according to a Novyny.LIVE correspondent.

Relatives of prisoners know nothing about their condition and whereabouts

Anastasiia Savova said that her father, a marine, is also in captivity. Currently, she only knows that he has tuberculosis and serious health problems. His feet are rotting. His exact place of detention is unknown.

"I don't even know if he is alive," she admits.

She also emphasized that such information isolation is typical for almost all Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Russia continues to hide information about Ukrainian prisoners, complicating the work of international humanitarian organizations.

As a reminder, Anastasiia Savova also told how Russians treat captured Ukrainian marines.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has also recently stated that in 2024, more Ukrainian defenders were released from captivity than in 2023.
