Ukraine has already received more than one-third of the planned ammunition from the Czech initiative. The rest should be delivered by the end of this year.

This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine in Prague, Vasyl Zvarych, in an interview for the Czech news agency ČTK on Thursday, October 3.

Zvarych said that currently more than a third of the expected 500,000 munitions, which should be transferred within the Czech initiative by the end of the year, are already in Ukraine. According to him, Ukraine is negotiating with the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic regarding the expansion of this initiative.

The ambassador noted that the Ukrainian military primarily needs 155-millimeter ammunition.

"This has a positive effect on strengthening our defense capability," Zvarych said.

He added that he had no information that there were problems with the ammunition being delivered, which was recently reported by the German newspaper Handelsblatt. Zvarych emphasized that the initiative should not be criticized, on the contrary, there is room for its development.

"Ukraine has increased its capabilities, but we need certain financial resources to further develop them and be able to produce ammunition of a smaller caliber," the ambassador emphasized, adding that Ukraine is also discussing this issue with the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic.

Zvarych also emphasized that Ukraine should not have restrictions on the use of weapons to strike military targets on the territory of Russia. According to him, this corresponds to the interests of all free countries, including the USA.

He also expressed confidence that these restrictions will be removed, as it is clear that without them the war will continue and the Russian dictator will have the opportunity to escalate.

"We must do everything to limit Russia's military potential... We are subjected to missile and drone attacks every day. We know from which parts of Russia they come. We know the specific locations of air bases, warehouses, and logistics centers," Zvarych emphasized.

It should be reminded that another Patriot anti-missile defense system has arrived in Ukraine. It was provided by Romania.

Previously, the head of the German Foreign Office, Annalena Berbock, expressed her support for the transfer of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. However, she noted that there is still no agreement on this issue in the ruling coalition.
