The United States will allocate $100 million to strengthen Ukraine's cybersecurity. The funds will, in particular, be directed to supporting public services and modernizing the Internet infrastructure.

This was stated by US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma during the ReBuild Ukraine conference in Warsaw, a correspondent of Novyny.LIVE reports on Wednesday, November 13.

Financial assistance of the United States

During the conference, Verma said that the United States will provide new support to strengthen Ukraine's cybersecurity, infrastructure, and critical public services. The assistance will also be aimed at expanding access to information and communication technologies for all Ukrainians.

"This is a new commitment of $100 million. This comprehensive package will strengthen Ukraine's entire government's cybersecurity capabilities through technical assistance, human resource development, and modernization of critical network infrastructure," the US Deputy Secretary of State emphasized.

He added that the United States plans to continue modernization of Ukraine's critical Internet infrastructure, but despite all efforts, the most effective way of economic recovery remains EU accession and Euro-Atlantic integration.

"It is worth recalling that Ukraine's desire and aspiration to be part of the European Union is the driving force of Ukraine's transformation," Verma noted.

As a reminder, Minister of Energy German Galushchenko commented on Russia's cyberattacks on the energy sector. He emphasized that the war continues not only on the frontline, but also in the information space.

Previously, a two-day international exhibition-conference ReBuild Ukraine Construction and Energy has started in Warsaw. The goal of the event is to unite efforts for restoring Ukraine's economy.
