U.S. companies should strengthen security and take care of online security to protect themselves from possible Russian sabotage. This advice was given to defense companies by the US intelligence services.

This was reported by The New York Times on Thursday, November 21.

What is known about the warnings of defense companies about Russian sabotage

The article notes that American officials have informed defense companies of Russia's intentions to carry out a series of sabotage actions. In their opinion, this applies not only to companies in the United States, but also outside America.

According to U.S. intelligence, Russian intelligence agencies are already committing sabotage against European companies to undermine NATO's support for Ukraine. The number of Russian and Chinese attempts at cyber attacks and intellectual property theft has also increased.

Company employees have been advised not to disclose their travel itineraries and plans, and to report suspicious incidents to special services. According to media sources, the decision to take such measures was made because of Russian attempts to assassinate one of the German arms manufacturers.

"Individuals involved in work related to Ukraine or other geopolitical conflicts should be cautious about disclosing work, travel, personal and family information online. Attackers can use this information to determine access, location, and personal vulnerabilities," says the NCSC.

Earlier, we reported that in the Baltic Sea, unknown persons cut the cable that connects Lithuania and Sweden. As a result, Internet bandwidth has been reduced by three times.

According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the damage to the telecommunications cable should be considered sabotage. However, there is currently no evidence of any country's involvement in this incident.
