What is the radiation background at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant?

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi assured that the radiation level at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant remains stable.

"The IAEA team at Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant confirms there has been no increase in radiation levels at the site," it was emphasized in the Agency.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi assured that the radiation background in the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP does not change and remains stable.

This probably began after the wind blew from the side of the Zaporizhzhia NPP temporarily captured by Russian troops.

However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Energy denied this information. According to them, the radiation level in the Zaporizhzhia region was within the norm.

As a reminder, according to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, the United States and Ukraine have a common interest in returning Zaporizhzhia NPP under Ukrainian control, in particular, it is about launching its full-fledged operation to implement joint energy projects as part of the country's reconstruction.

Also, Rafael Grossi estimated how long the restoration of Zaporizhzhia NPP would take and what specific work needs to be done.
