Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has been included in the ranking of the biggest losers of 2024. The authors of the list laughed at his idea to "capture Ukraine in three days".

This was reported by Politico on Monday, December 30.

Putin is on the list of losers

The authors note that in 2024, the situation of the Russian occupation army at the front in Ukraine was extremely unsuccessful.

"Does anyone remember Russian President Vladimir Putin's promise to conquer Ukraine during a three-day special operation? Well, in 2024, it continued to go badly wrong, as Ukraine not only held off Russian attacks, but also captured a chunk of Russian territory during an offensive in the Kursk region. With the Russian economy overheating due to high inflation and chronic labor shortages, Putin lost his foothold in Syria (and a route to Africa) with the fall of the Assad regime. And Moscow ended the year by apologizing (without admitting guilt) for the downing of an Azerbaijani civilian plane," the article reads.

The list also includes:

  • French President Emmanuel Macron;
  • German Chancellor Olaf Scholz;
  • Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban;
  • Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

As a reminder, Putin approved an updated "Strategy for Countering Extremism", which for the first time identifies Ukraine as a major source of threats.

Putin also apologized to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, calling the incident a "tragic event".
