The Ministerial Conference on the Human Dimension of the Peace Formula, which took place on October 30-31 in Montreal, was attended by 70 representatives from 63 countries and international organizations. The conference lasted for a day and a half and was focused on three main issues and groups.

Natalka Cmoc, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine, told about this to Novyny.LIVE.

According to her, it was a very specific and good conference, which, in particular, discussed in detail point 4 of the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This point concerns the release of prisoners and deported Ukrainians to the Russian Federation, an issue overseen by Canada and Norway. Overall, we discussed three main areas related to it.

"First, an exact list of individuals, including their locations, legal status, and health conditions. Second, ensuring support for other detainees and an end to torture. Third, planning the process for their return to Ukraine. This process has already begun, but it needs to become regular and receive ongoing support. Some countries are already prepared to oversee this effort," the Ambassador clarified.

Natalka Cmoc also noted that it is very important to bring Ukrainians home as soon as possible, especially children. Because childhood is a short process and they need to know that they are thought of and loved.

According to the President's Office, during the Ministerial Conference on the Human Dimension of the Peace Formula in Montreal, the participating states committed themselves to returning all captured and deported Ukrainians. These are Qatar, the Vatican, Lithuania, South Africa and the UAE.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, met with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly. The representatives of the countries discussed the return of Ukrainian children who were illegally taken to Russia.
