"Construction of the "East Shield" has begun! These are the first works on the border with Russia," Tusk said.

It should be noted that the "East Shield" project is a joint initiative of Poland with the Baltic countries. In particular, Warsaw plans to invest more than $2.5 billion there during 2024-2028. In addition, it is being implemented jointly with the USA, France and the UK.

As part of the project, reinforcement systems, fortification barriers, advanced bases and logistics hubs will be built there. Previously, Donald Tusk noted that most of the built infrastructure will be civilian. However, drone and anti-drone systems, surveillance systems at all levels will also be installed there.

It became known that from November 10, 2024, the countries of the European Union will introduce new border crossing rules.

Poland also recently introduced new border crossing rules for Ukrainian children who are registered for temporary shelter.
