Childbirth under rockets — a girl was born in a hospital shelter

A healthy girl was born in the shelter of the Volyn Regional Perinatal Center during the rocket shelling of Lutsk. The mother and newborn have now been transferred to a shared ward.

The press service of the Volyn Regional Medical Association for the Maternity and Childhood Protection reported this via Facebook on Thursday, November 28.

Attack on Lutsk

On the morning of November 28, Russian troops launched a missile strike on Lutsk. A girl was born in the shelter of the regional perinatal center during the attack.

The mother from Rivne was taken to the hospital by an emergency medical team. Doctors successfully delivered the baby at 8 a.m.: the girl was born, weighing 3 kg 30 g and measuring 52 cm. This is the woman's first birth.

It is noted that a full-fledged delivery room and operating room have been equipped in the perinatal center shelter. The staff offers safe conditions for providing necessary assistance to mothers and babies during air raids.

It should be recalled that on November 28, the Russian army shelled the city of Lutsk. As a result of the strike, part of the city was knocked out of power, and electric transport was out of service.

Explosions also occurred in Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that a total of 188 air targets were detected in the sky over Ukrainian cities on the night and morning of November 28.
