The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution confirming the recognition of the Holodomor in 1932-1933 as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commended this decision.

This is pointed out in the statement of the department on Thursday, October 3.

Recognition of the Holodomor as genocide

The recognition of the Holodomor as an act of genocide is stated in the resolution "Commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor — Ukraine is again threatened with genocide."

"The resolution not only confirms the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people, but also emphasizes the current genocidal intentions of the Russian Federation in its aggression against Ukraine," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized, this decision not only honors the memory of millions of innocent Ukrainians who died due to the Holodomor.

Previously, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted the first resolution regarding Ukrainian prisoners of war on Wednesday, October 2. There they supported the idea of "all for all" exchange.

We will remind, the Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko gave an emotional speech at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. He called for "bombing" Moscow and giving permission to Ukraine to attack deeply into Russia.
