Medical partnership — Zelenska spoke about project's successes
The conference "Synergy for Health: Uniting Efforts for Global Change" was held in Lviv. The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, addressed the participants in a video format.
This was reported on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine on Wednesday, December 11.
How does an international medical partnership work
The main topics discussed at the event were the development of international medical partnerships and innovations in education. The international medical partnership was launched in 2023 during the third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen. As Olena Zelenska noted, 57 memorandums of cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign hospitals have already been concluded within this initiative.
"I was personally present at the signing of many memorandums. And I saw what a touching moment it is, especially for our doctors. Because they correctly feel the numerous new opportunities that this unique cooperation will bring. But these are opportunities not only for our medicine. After all, the times when we were just learning are over. The experience that our doctors now have was obtained at a very high price, but it is unique and often the most advanced in the world," the First Lady emphasized.
According to Zelenska, the project has united 21 countries of the world in just a year of its existence. 36 Ukrainian and 43 foreign medical institutions have joined.
"No one in the world has ever done this, launched such global horizontal and informal cooperation between clinics. No one has ever accelerated the exchange of doctors' experience so much. The teams of your hospitals are doing all this. Moreover, in extremely difficult conditions — amidst the Russian invasion of Ukraine," Olena Zelenska noted.
As a reminder, the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, has spoken out about how the full-scale war has changed her husband, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She noted that stress has affected the Ukrainian leader's health.
Olena Zelenska gave an interview on Italian television. The host asked her a provocative question, which the president's wife answered after a long and awkward pause.
