The European Union’s support for Ukraine can be one of the main factors in the victory over Russia. We are talking about financial assistance, sanctions, arms, and training for soldiers.

It was stated by the Head of the EU Diplomacy Kaja Kallas at the Annual Conference of the EU Defence Agency on Wednesday, January 22.

Ukraine’s victory is coming closer

According to Kallas, €134 billion has already been allocated to support Ukraine, of which €50 billion has been spent on arms. By the end of January, the number of Ukrainian soldiers trained by the EU countries will reach 75.000.

The head of the EU diplomacy also announced work on the 16th package of sanctions against Russia and expressed readiness to consider the use of frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine. She emphasized that Europe can do more to help Ukraine win the war, as the EU economy is 17 times larger than Russia’s.

The High Representative believes that the EU should demonstrate defeat to Putin and stop the aggressor before he dares to attack other countries.

"There is absolutely no doubt that we can do more to help Ukraine. With our help, they can win the war," Kallas said.

Earlier, the Head of the EU’s Foreign Policy Policy Kaja Kallas said that sanctions against Russia should not be lifted despite Hungary’s resistance.

We also wrote that the EU may impose sanctions on imports of Russian aluminum.
