J.D. Vance was born in Midvale, Ohio in 1984. He received his first higher education at Ohio University and later attended law school at Yale University.

He is best known for his autobiographical book Hillbilly Elegy, in which he describes his family's struggles with alcoholism, violence, and economic depression. He also discusses the socio-economic problems of working people in the United States, especially in poor neighborhoods. The book became the subject of widespread debate and helped Vance gain popularity as a public intellectual and cultural critic.

Political career

In 2022, Vance was elected to the U.S. Senate from Ohio. He defeated Democrat Tim Ryan in the election, becoming part of the conservative wing of the Republican Party. And in July 2024, Donald Trump decided on a candidate for Vice President of the United States if he won the presidential election in November. It was J.D. Vance.

"As vice president, J.D. Vance will be a steadfast defender of the Constitution, a strong supporter of our military, and committed to doing everything in his power to ensure America's greatness," Trump stated introducing his running mate.

At the same time, it is known that a few years ago, Vance criticized Trump and his policies, not sparing any harsh words. He called him "unfit for the highest office" in the United States, compared him to Hitler, and said that Trump was an "opioid for the masses".

However, Vance later said that his attitude and statements about the former US president were wrong and he was "working to ensure his re-election for a second term".

During the campaign, he actively encouraged to vote for Trump, constantly attended rallies and attracted wealthy sponsors.

As a reminder, on November 6, Donald Trump won the US presidential election for the second time, as he received 270 votes.
