Ukraine conducted a large-scale cyberattack on the Russian financial sector
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense conducted a successful cyber attack on the Russian financial sector. In particular, Alfa Bank, Bank "Otkrytiye" and the telecommunications operator "Rostelecom" were under attack.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine intelligence sources on Wednesday, October 2.
Cyberattack on Russian institutions
According to an intelligence source, the attack led to serious disruptions in the fast payment system, which significantly affected financial transactions in Russia. As a result, mobile apps of banks and online banking became unavailable, and internal services of financial institutions stopped working.
It will be recalled that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov. The head of state listened to the report.
