Australian Minister reveals details of military aid for Ukraine
Australia has handed over to Ukraine almost fifty Abrams tanks and other necessary weapons. We are talking about missiles, artillery and more. The country will continue to strengthen Ukraine.
Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs Penny Wong announced this at a joint press conference with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, as a correspondent of Novyny.LIVE had reported on Wednesday, December 18.
How Australia helps Ukraine
As Wong noted, Australia has already handed over 49 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. In addition, they have provided air defense missiles, ground and anti-tank weapons and artillery.
"And we also cooperate with NATO as an operational partner in the Alliance's security and training initiatives for Ukraine... I have heard from my friends a request for further assistance and, obviously, I will take them back to Australia," Wong noted.
As a reminder, Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs Penny Wong, who made her first official visit to Ukraine in a decade, announced financial assistance.
Australia is resuming full operation of its embassy in Ukraine. This move will strengthen bilateral cooperation between the countries.
