The first combat clash between Ukrainian and North Korean soldiers took place in the Kursk region in Russia. Russia has armed the North Korean military with a significant amount of weapons.

This was reported by the Financial Times on Tuesday, November 5.

A senior Ukrainian reconnaissance official reportedly confirmed the military action, but declined to provide more specific information.

According to him, this happened in Kursk region, where Ukraine currently controls about 600 square meters of territory.

Recently, the MID stated that the Russian Federation had armed the North Korean military in Kursk with 60-mm mortars, assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, anti-tank guided missiles and shoulder-launched anti-tank missile systems.

According to reconnaissance, some of them were also equipped with night vision devices and thermal imagers.

Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kovalenko also noted that the first military units of the DPRK came under fire in Kursk.

As a reminder, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the number of North Korean troops in the Kursk region of Russia is about 11 thousand people.

At the same time, the Pentagon does not have information about whether military personnel from the DPRK participated in the battles.
