Zelenskyy called the leader of South Korea — what they discussed

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol. The leaders discussed Russia's involvement of North Korean soldiers in the war and countermeasures in response to the escalation.

Firstly, the Head of State thanked the Korean leader for his support of the Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the provided and announced financial and humanitarian assistance during the telephone conversation.

One of the key topics of discussion was the involvement of North Korean troops in the war. According to the President, he provided Yoon Suk Yeol with fresh data that the enemy has transferred another three thousand DPRK soldiers to Russian training grounds in the immediate vicinity of the fighting. In total, their number is expected to increase to 12 thousand.

"We discussed the involvement of the North Korean military in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. There is one conclusion — this war is internationalizing and going beyond the borders of two states," Zelenskyy said.

The leaders of the countries agreed to strengthen the exchange of intelligence and expertise, as well as to intensify contacts at all levels, in particular, the highest ones, to develop strategies for action and countermeasures in response to the escalation.

"Within the framework of this agreement, Ukraine and the Republic of Korea will exchange delegations in the near future to coordinate actions," the Head of State wrote.

The President also invited South Korea to join the Vilnius Declaration of the G7 on bilateral security agreements in support of Ukraine.

Let us remind you that Russia is very anxious because in response to the involvement of North Korean fighters against Ukraine, South Korea will provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with more powerful military assistance.

Previously, the US stated that South Korea and the UK warned of a high price if North Korea sends troops to help Russia in aggression against Ukraine.
