Donald Trump has taken office as the President of the United States of America. That is why all eyes are now on the United States and few are looking at Europe. Washington itself does not believe that the EU can bring it anything meaningful.

It was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his speech in Davos on Tuesday, January 21.

Why the US is not afraid of losing Europe

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after Trump’s inauguration, everyone is waiting for his next steps. According to the President, the first decrees of the new leader have already shown clear priorities.

"Most of the world is now thinking about what will happen to their relationship with America, what will happen to alliances, support, trade, how President Trump plans to end wars. However, no one is asking the same type of questions about Europe," Zelenskyy claimed.

He also added that the United States is an indispensable ally for Europe. However, Washington, according to the President of Ukraine, has a different position.

"In times of war, everyone worries about whether the United States will be with them, and every ally worries about it. But is anyone in the United States worried that Europe might one day abandon them, might cease to be their ally? The answer is no. Washington does not believe that Europe can bring them anything that is truly meaningful," the President of Ukraine claimed.

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Donald Trump on his official inauguration as the President of the United States. The Head of State claimed that we are ready to cooperate with the United States to achieve peace.

Former US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker believes that Donald Trump will not stop helping Ukraine. He says that such a decision would lead to Putin’s victory, and the American leader does not want that.
