The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could capture the Kursk NPP. However, this is not the goal of our state.

Zelenskyy said this during an interview with the media of the Nordic countries on Wednesday, October 30.

Ukraine could attack the Kursk NPP

"Russia thinks that they are very strong, but if we wanted to capture their nuclear power plant, we would do it. We could do it, but we never wanted to do it," the President said.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that Ukraine never wanted to capture the nuclear power plant in the Kursk region, as this would mean becoming like the Russians.

"We are not occupying their critical infrastructure, as they did with the Zaporizhzhia NPP," Zelenskyy added.

Previously, Russian mass media had spread information that Ukraine had allegedly fired HIMARS missiles at the Kursk NPP.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that the situation around the Kursk nuclear power plant remained tense, but the agency was not planning a permanent mission there.
