On Wednesday, November 27, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov arrived in South Korea on a working visit on behalf of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. There, he spoke with the country's President, Defense Minister, and National Security Adviser.

Zelensky said this in a video address in the evening.

Umerov's visit to South Korea

"Rustem Umerov spoke with the President of South Korea, his counterpart, the Minister of Defense, and the National Security Advisor," the statement said.

The President clarified that the conversation concerned the DPRK's involvement in the war on the side of Russia and the steps that South Korea and Ukraine can take together to protect our peoples and ensure the security of the regions.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the presence of not only North Korean missiles and shells in Russia's arsenals, but also soldiers on the front line is the globalization of war. Upon Umerov's return to Ukraine, he expects the minister to report on the talks in Seoul.

"I am grateful to everyone who works for Ukraine! I am grateful to each and every one who is fighting for our country and people. Slava Ukraini! (Glory to Ukraine!)" the Ukrainian leader added.

Earlier, Reuters wrote that South Korea is against direct arms supplies to Ukraine. But they are ready to consider this possibility depending on the future steps of Russia and the DPRK.

And MP Andriy Nikolayenko believes that South Korea's internal problems may affect the decision to transfer weapons to Ukraine.
