Promises made by partners at the last NATO summit have not been fulfilled. Ukraine is still waiting for the Air Defense Systems to protect civilians from being hit by Russia.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the meeting in Ramstein format on Thursday, January 9.

Partners did not fulfill all their promises

In particular, the President underlined that Ukraine needs immediate supplies of the Air Defense Systems and mentioned yesterday’s Russia’s hit on Zaporizhzhia, which claimed the lives of civilians.

"We must remember that the promises of the last NATO summit have not yet been fulfilled — we need the Air Defense Systems you promised us. We must stop Russian terror. And you can do it. We ask for the urgent delivery of the Air Defense Systems," Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian leader added that licensing the production of the Air Defense Systems and missiles in Ukraine could become a significant part of Ukraine’s security guarantees.

As a reminder, on January 8, Russians hit Zaporizhzhia, resulting in 120 people being injured in the shelling. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, claimed that the invaders deliberately hit the city.
